Dear Oaklanders,

As the founding and former Presidents of the Glenview Neighborhood Association* (GNA), we urge you to vote for Jean Quan for Mayor. We have both had the pleasure of working with Jean in her capacity as City Council Member and have found her office to be among the most responsive to issues both big and small.

As a deeply ethical person, she approaches challenges with a fair yet aggressive attitude that will be critical as we face unprecedented challenges. Jean has the courage to take on the difficult and politically charged issues whose resolution is critical to Oakland’s success going forward.

Jean and her supporters have met many of you at your doors. She has campaigned block by block all over the City listening to our concerns and seeking sustainable solutions. Jean has served Oakland with integrity, a tenacious spirit to dig deep into the issues that are important to us, and unwavering dedication to our unique neighborhoods.

Oakland needs a Mayor who truly understands our City, and having lived and been active in Oakland for over 30 years, Jean knows Oakland. Most importantly, she knows how to get things done and as Mayor she can make real change in Oakland.

Jean is not for sale, is not part of a political machine, and will end backroom pay-to-play politics in Oakland’s City Hall. Jean stands for ethics over politics, fairness over greed, and will develop policies that will benefit working families, seniors, and young people in our city.
